FastShapes-Main Tube with 30 degree slant?

Need Answer

How do I draw a 14" OD tube (14ga-hrs) at 32" tall with a 30 degree slant at the top? I have PBranch and I can lay out the Branch. But the main doesnt have an option to put any degree of slant in it. I believe it is an elbow feature? Attached is an image of the product. I just need to figure out how to draw the main tube flat, so I can cut it out on my plasma table. Any help would be fantastic.

Hi Matt,

There are several solutions using FastSHAPES as this is a composite development

The simplest method is to use ELBOW to create a 30dg cut on the end of a cylinder

Simply develop a two piece “lobster” ( this is the minimum number of gores )

Set the angle to 60

IE you now have two pieces at 300

s1

Select just one element

s2

Output the pattern with the seam at the most appropriate position

s3

Merge the patterns using the FastCAM drawing editor paying particular attention to the seam location.

Select BlOCKS – INSERT

You also need to set the correct height for the body of the pattern

You should set one end of the main pattern as the datum

An example is below with the seams in default locations, adjust FastSHAPES to place the seams correctly

Remove the join line and output the pattern.

I only have PBranch and FASTCam7. I dont have the entire FastShapes suite. I dont see ELBOWs in PBranch.

Hi Matt,

In that case you may need to purchase FastSHAPES Elbow, which can be found here:
