FastPLOT – Cost Function Overview

The Cost Function in FastPLOT allows users to review and analyze the total cost associated with a part. When a part is opened in FastPLOT, users can access detailed cost information by selecting the Cost button. This opens a submenu containing several key sections and adjustable parameters.

1. Process Details

This section lists all the processes defined by the post processor, such as:

  • Rapid
  • Plasma
  • Text Marker

For each process, the following details are displayed:

  • Distance
  • Feedrate (in/min)
  • $/Pierce
  • Secs/Pierce
  • Time

Users can manually adjust the Feedrate, $/Pierce, and Secs/Pierce values to reflect specific cutting or processing conditions.

2. NC File Information & Analysis

Located directly below the process details, this area provides a summary of the NC program, including all relevant part details.

Adjacent to this section is the Material Specification, where users can update:

  • Thickness
  • Material
  • Density

3. Pricing Rates

Users can modify several cost parameters to suit their estimation needs:

  • Material Rate
  • Processing Rate
  • Handling Time
  • Tax Rate

Any adjustments made in this section will automatically update the overall pricing values displayed in the cost summary.

4. Optional Actions

  • Export: Users can export the part data and cost analysis as a CSV file for further review or reporting.
  • Print: The system allows users to print a detailed report showing the part image along with all cost-related information from the submenu.
