Single Pierce Points - Drilling Afterwards

Good afternoon FastCam users.

There is another thread here where single pierce points are discussed, but for some reason I am unable to comment there... Apologies for starting a new thread.

I would like to cut a part, but instead of cutting the holes via the CNC plasma table, I simply would like to create a center pierce point in the correct location to then manually drill afterwards.

I drew the part, then drew all 4 holes.

Went to: Utility / Holes to points (FastCam 7

I indicate the holes and then Fastcam changes them for me to yellow points which is suppose to then be treated as a single pierce point.

However, after exporting the file to .txt, it omits the hole positions. Does anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Hi Boesman

You will also need to select a corresponding Pierce Point Process.

It is possible the POST being used does not have a pierce point process.

You can email through your POST files and we can assist you further.

Look under -Control pts menu in FastCAM, click on "NC DISPLAY".

an information panel will appear, and it will list the "CONTROL File" that is in use.

e.g. START.CON / FLCNC.CON / EDGE.CON

Look for this file from the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\FastCAM\

Email through the file you're using.

Thank you very much Jackson. I have emailed the file to you.

Also, the manual I have for FastCam7 does not have the "holes to points" feature listed. Is there a newer manual I might need instead?

WOW !! Awesome service. Thanks Jackson.

I have copied the file you sent to the FASTCAM directory file.

Did the reset and the .txt output file now indeed shows the pierce points.

Have a great weekend.
