fastcam crashing runtime error upon loading dwg file, What shall I do to solve that issue?

I am trying to load a dwg file into fastcam to actually see the shape and convert it later to an nc file in order to run it on my plasma.

I just installed the fastcam software wich i got with my cnc plasma.

Di anybody run into the same problem? how did you solve it?

Hi Alex,

Firstly what version of FastCAM are you using to try and open this DWG File? And do you know what year the DWG format is saved to? IF you are using the older V7 FastCAM, and a newer DWG format they are likely incompatible. You would need to re-save the DWG as an older file format, and try again.

If it is V7, can you please let me know your FastCAM Dongle number?

It also says that my version is a special version for a portable cncn plasma.

Hi Alexander,

Then I would suggest loading the older style of DWG and seeing how that goes. The V7 FastCAM you have most likely cannot read the most recent DWG files.
