Unable to install on Windows 10/11

When trying to install FastCam7/FastNest on Windows 10 or 11 machines I keep getting the following errors.

6cb0eac271a3f95aa3adec4d5cc63c60

6cb0eac271a3f95aa3adec4d5cc63c60

When putting in the USB and running the programs the error "FastCam7 is not enabled" appears and the program closes. I have 2 other W10 machines that have FastCam/Fastnest installed on but I cannot see any difference in the install folders to work out what is happening.

Hi Patrick,

Can you send me a picture of the dongle, with the number clearly visible on it?

If you have the dongle plugged in, but are still having trouble, please try the steps in the guide here:

Hello,

Please see attached. Number looks to be 00165212.

I've gone through those instructions and done the following

- put the Sense_LC and UniKey.dll files in C:\Windows\SysWOW64

- Changed the Read/Write permissions to full for the user account.

- Reattached the Dongle multiple times

- Disabled Windows SmartScreen

Still having the same problem.

Hi Patrick,

Hard to say why it would work on one and not the other, and it looks like you have done all the basic steps. Assuming you have also tried other USB ports? Does the dongle light up correctly at least and does it pop up in the device manager?

You can try turning off your AV for a small window to see if it might be blocking the dongle also.

If all else fails there is little more we can do as FastCAM 7 is an old product now. You may have to look at getting a license for FastCAM 9:

Let me know how you go,

Alex
