Not able to use FONT GEN, "Operation not permitted by FAST LOCK"

Hi,

I am not able to run FONTGEN , it shows operation not permitted by FASTLOCK, Check software version with FMS FASTCAM, although i am successfully able to use FASTCAM and FASTNEST through the same dongle and on same operating system

Hi Lokesh,

It is likely you have an OEM version of FastCAM which pre-installs the FontGEN / Outline Program, but does not license them.

If you would like to get FontGEN, you would need to purchase it through the website here:

http://www.fastcam.com/webstore.html

It is $99 USD, and can be downloaded in a few minutes. That said, please UNINSTALL your OEM copy of FontGEN, before installing this one. They conflict and cannot be run together.

Hi Alex

I took these steps and purchased the $99 outline program and I can open a image but when I try to convert to dxf the program will freeze. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Mick,

Can you please try re-running the installer as administrator. It sounds like one of the components has not registered correctly. Make sure, before you do this, that you have uninstalled your Chinese OEM copy of Outline.

Also, for the best results from Outline, try and start with images that are:

High Resolution
High Contrast
Black & White

If you can get an image that has these properties, you can achieve a really nice conversion.
