Overview This guide provides instructions on managing QE sections and configuring long product settings within the software.
1: Access the Sections Group
- In Configuration, click the "Sections Group" icon to open the Sections Group List.
- Here you will find the Groups of sections / long product, as well as their:
- Section codes
- Descriptions
- Types
- Length excesses
2: Add a New Section Group
- Click the "Add" button under the Actions tab.
- In the pop-up menu, enter:
- Group code
- Description
- Length excess
- Type (select from available options)
- Click "Save" to add the new section group.
3: Delete a Section Group
- Select the section group to remove.
- Click the "Delete" button under the Actions tab.
- Confirm deletion with the Yes/No prompt.
- PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to remove a section group that is in use
4: Configure Section Options
- Click "Sections" to view the catalog of sections.
- Select a group to see material options and descriptive details.
- You can adjust any values in this table, but be aware it is LIVE. So any values adjusted take effect immediately.
- Things you may want to adjust more regularly are Sell and Cost rates. Also if a plate is active or not. For instance if you no longer stock that particular plate size
- Importantly you can set your prices as $/m:
- Or as Cost$ / Tonne:
5: Bulk Adjust Sell/Cost Values
- In the Actions tab, click Adjust Sell/Cost.
- Here you can Bulk update the Sell or Cost Values of your plates. You can do this via
- Fixed value - The value set will become the new value for Sell or Cost
- Percentage factor- The Value will be used as a multiplier. So 1.1, as above, will mean a 10% increase
- Cost mark-up percentage - Setting the Sell value as a Mark up value from the cost, as a multiplier. E.g. a value of 1.2 will mean Cost + 20%.
6: Other Actions
- Modify excess settings:
- Select "Excess" to adjust settings for any section group.
- This will take you back to the Section Group table, where you can make this adjustment
- View technical data:
- Select "Tech Data" for detailed specifications of structural parts.
- Select the Section group you wish to inspect
- The tech data, as well as a diagram of the section, will appear:
7: Add a Section
- Click the "Add" button.
- Input required data in the designated fields. All fields in YELLOW are required.
8: Disable a Section
- To disable a section
9: Delete a Section
- PLEASE NOTE: It is far preferable to make a section Inactive, rather than delete it. Unless it was freshly added and is incorrect.
- Select the line item from Long Product (Sections).
- Click "Delete".
- Confirm deletion in the pop-up message by clicking "Yes".
